IP67 Micro Switch
IP67 is a higher level of protection level standard issued by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), which means that the equipment has strong dust and water resistance. This standard is suitable for electronic products and industrial equipment with strict requirements for harsh environments.

IP40 Micro Switch
IP40 is a basic protection level, mainly used for devices with low environmental requirements and no risk of liquid contact. It provides a certain degree of protection against solid objects, but no protection against water.The numbers represent the following as shown in the figure on the right:

● Waterproof capability (second number "0")
Waterproof micro switch structure
There are not many internal parts of the waterproof micro switch. After disassembly, as shown in the right picture, it can be divided into a handle, a sealed button, a waterproof shell, a metal contact piece, and a terminal block from top to bottom.

Application of waterproof micro switch in automobile ignition device
Waterproof micro switches are mostly used in automotive micro switches, new energy equipment (charging guns) and some household appliances.
The video on the right shows you the application of Unionwell G3 ultra-small sealed micro switch in automobile ignition. The waterproof micro switch is installed under the automobile ignition. When the driver turns the key or presses the start button, the micro switch responds quickly and sends a start signal to the electronic control unit (ECU) to ensure smooth engine ignition. Since cars often operate in complex environments such as rain, snow, high humidity or dust, IP67 micro switches must be selected.

Waterproof Micro Switch Testing & Certification Standards Explained
The IP67 waterproof test is relatively strict. The internationally recognized test standard is that the switch must undergo a fine dust intrusion test in a dustproof room for 8 hours , and then be completely immersed in clean water at a standard depth. If it can work stably for half an hour, it is considered to meet the standard. For detailed test specifications, please refer to the IEC official standard interpretation. Nowadays, it has been simplified to work at a depth of 15 cm underwater for half an hour to meet the IP67 test standard.
